What do you do for work? Give us a few reasons why you love it.
I work in the digital media and advertising field as a Director for DEFY Media. I love it because I give publishers access to creative digital ad products that help their business thrive. Digital media has always been a passion of mine, and I actually coded my first website in high school. It’s amazing how you can string a bunch of numbers and letters together and come up with something creatively great. I love what I do because I help businesses grow, and business growth typically yields to people growth, and that makes me happy.
Your current company aside, name two other companies that you admire and explain why.
I admire creative, innovative products that help people and businesses thrive. LinkedIn is a great company that has brought people together digitally to share and publicize their successes at work, and also gives them new opportunity. I also admire Google for excelling in many different facets and products, again bringing people together to share creative knowledge and employing people while making their main goal to promote their creativity and happiness.
In your opinion, what is wrong with the corporate world and how would you fix it?
Good leadership is hard to find in the corporate world. It’s important for me to fix this by being a leader that listens, appreciates and builds up fellow employees to make them the best they can be.
Who are your role models or influences? Explain what makes them special.
My Dad is my idol as he ran a successful publishing business that employed hundreds of people on Long Island, helping families and businesses alike thrive. In business, I admire Jeff Weiner (CEO of LinkedIn), Luke Wroblewski (Product Manager at Google), and Ryan Holmes (CEO of Hootsuite). These are three great influences in the digital space that I follow for inspiration.
How do you want the world to be different because you lived in it?
Great question. I think it’s important for people to pursue their passions and do what they love. It’s all about trial and error, so I would hope to inspire at the least my children alone to be the best they can be, if not others along with them.
What is your best or worst moment of this week?
Best Moment: BabyNames.com signed a contract to start working with DEFY Media! So getting that signed contract was my best moment.
Worst Moment(s): Scrubbing Nutella off my beige carpet and Skippy peanut butter off the wall.
